MAGNY-COURS, France, June 21, 2008 (AFP) - The ´up for sale´ Toro Rosso team were smiling Saturday after succeeding in having both cars through to the second session - Q2 - in qualifying for Sunday´s French Grand Prix.
It was the first time this season that the team have enjoyed such success.
Frenchman Sebastien Bourdais, 29, driving in front of his own fans, said: "It was very tight today with about half a dozen of us within a tenth of a second.
"It´s at times like this that the smallest thing can make a difference.
"I was thinking 12th place was achievable, but the track changed and in the end 14th is not so bad. The main thing here is going to be to get to the finish."
His team-mate 20-year-old German Sebastian Vettel said: "That was very close and very exciting and it is great to have both cars in Q2 at last. My laps were not perfect, but they were pretty good.
"I am impressed with the car in this new package and we have a chance of doing something good this weekend."
