Feb.27 (GMM) David Coulthard returned to the cockpit of his Red Bull on Wednesday, as the final day of winter testing for most formula one teams kicked off in Spain.

After Toro Rosso's Sebastian Vettel substituted for the Scottish veteran a day earlier, 36-year-old Coulthard had apparently recovered from a trapped nerve reportedly sustained whilst running at the Circuit de Catalunya on Monday.

Vettel had stayed in Barcelona overnight, in case the treatment to Coulthard's injury had not improved. Sebastien Bourdais is concluding Toro Rosso's pre-season test programme at the circuit on Wednesday.

"All being well, David will be back in the car tomorrow morning," RBR boss Christian Horner had said on Tuesday.
