New Schu racing makes 'no sense' - Bernie

Apr.27 (GMM) Bernie Ecclestone has sided with Jean Todt in questioning the wisdom of Michael Schumacher's amateur career on two wheels.

Todt, the former Ferrari boss, said last month that he feared for the seven time world champion's safety, after he embarked on a spate of competitive motorcycle riding and MotoGP testing.

F1 chief executive Ecclestone now admits that he is amazed at the 39-year-old German's choice of retirement hobby.

"In formula one, he was always pushing for more and more safety -- and now he races a motorcycle!" the 77-year-old remarked to Bild am Sonntag.

"I don't quite understand why he would now risk getting himself seriously injured. It makes no sense to me," Ecclestone added.
