May 6 (GMM) Toro Rosso on Tuesday confirmed that its 2008 car, the STR3, will finally make its debut at the Monaco grand prix later this month.

It had already emerged that the car's intended debut at Istanbul this weekend had to be delayed due to a shortage of spare - specifically suspension - parts.

Chief engineer Laurent Mekies confirmed that Monte Carlo, because of the armco barriers and the cramped working conditions, is not the "ideal venue" for a new car's race debut.

"However, everyone is prepared to face the challenge and give it our best shot," he said in a team document.
