Jun.22 (GMM) Imola, the former venue of the San Marino grand prix, has achieved a '1T' rating by formula one's governing body, the FIA.

The Italian venue has been missing from the F1 calendar for a couple of years.

'1T' status means that F1 testing can take place, but a prestigious '1' homologation is required for grands prix.

Ferrari test driver Andrea Bertolini recently tried the modified layout when he was testing

A1GP's new Ferrari-designed single seater.

"The entrance to the pit lane is too dangerous," he is quoted as saying by Motorsport Aktuell.

A couple of gravel traps were also singled out for necessary improvements.
