MAGNY-COURS, France, June 19, 2008 (AFP) - The city of Rouen will run as a candidate to host next season´s French Grand Prix, officials from the Normandy region of France announced Thursday.

The French GP will be held in Magny-Cours, Nievre, this weekend for the last time, as Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone is thought to be unhappy with the venue´s facilities.

Several other sites - including Disneyland Paris - have been named as possible sites for next year´s event, but no decision will be made for several weeks.

The French racing federation (FFSA) has said it has not received any confirmation about Rouen´s candidature.
