Ferrari defends Kimi after grid incident

Jul.8 (GMM) Ferrari has defended world champion Kimi Raikkonen after the team's Finnish driver pushed over a veteran photographer on the Silverstone grid last Sunday.

We reported that Frenchman Paul-Henri Cahier, who has been a F1 photographer for almost forty years, fell onto his back after Raikkonen shoved him for pushing a lens too close to the Finnish driver's face and standing on his equipment prior to the British grand prix.

Cahier in a statement denied getting too close or touching the 28-year-old's equipment, slamming Raikkonen's behaviour as the rudest he has seen among F1 champions.

"I fully understand Kimi's reaction," Ferrari spokesman Luca Colajanni told the Finnish broadcaster MTV3.

"It was a hard one (reaction), but we have to consider what (also) happened in that moment," he added.
