Jul.17 (GMM) Martin Whitmarsh on Thursday dismissed speculation McLaren may be looking to hire German driver Nico Rosberg for the 2009 season.

Famous driver manager Willi Weber, whose new charge Nico Hulkenberg currently tests for Williams, suggested this week that racer Nico Rosberg might move on to McLaren at the end of the season.

Whitmarsh, Woking based McLaren's chief executive, responded at Hockenheim: "We can confirm we have not had any contact with Nico Rosberg, or with his management, about him driving for us in 2009."

Rosberg, 23, said little when asked about the same rumour.

"I'm sorry, I don't want to comment on things like that at all," he told reporters in Germany.
