Jul.11 (GMM) McLaren and Ferrari on Friday said the espionage affair between them is now over.

Separate statements by the top formula one teams revealed that the decision was made following a reiterated apology by McLaren, and a final payment made by the Mercedes-powered outfit to Ferrari.

"(Ferrari) confirms that it has accepted to put an end to all outstanding controversies between the two teams," the statement issued by the Maranello based team read.

Ferrari said it would donate the final payment, which McLaren confirmed covers the "reimbursement of Ferrari's costs and expenses" related to the affair, to charity.

"Ferrari will pursue its claims against Nigel Stepney in connection with the matter," the Italian team added.
