Aug.13 (GMM) Safety improvements to the formula one test circuit at Jerez are currently taking place.

The changes to gravel traps and barriers are occurring ahead of an inspection by the world motorcycle sanctioning body, in the Spanish venue's bid to retain its MotoGP race.

A spokesman told visordown.com: "The work we are carrying on the circuit is to ensure that we can count on a new licence of homologation from the FIM for 2009."
