Oct.23 (GMM) Kazuki Nakajima has apologised for hospitalising two of his Williams teammates in the first formula one pit stop of his career in Brazil.

The Toyota-backed Japanese, the son of former grand prix driver Satoru Nakajima, knocked over five of his pit crew in the Interlagos pit lane.

Two were sent to hospital in Sao Paulo, where they spent Sunday night, but are set to return home to England without serious injury.

"It was totally my mistake, I just braked too late," he was quoted as saying by Speed TV.

22-year-old rookie Nakajima did, however, impress observers with his maiden outing in Brazil, including co-owner Patrick Head, who said at Interlagos "he's set a marker for a future in formula one".

Sir Frank Williams, who did not travel to Brazil at the weekend, said recently: "(It's) too soon to say if he will have an outstanding future or a medium future in F1, but I think he is formula one material."

Nakajima said on Tuesday: "I would love to do F1 next year, but I would be happy with GP2 as well. Whatever I do, it's going to be a really good year for me (in 2008), I think."
