Sep.26 (GMM) A British magazine publishing company has confirmed that high profile formula one journalist Matt Bishop has accepted an offer to work for McLaren.

It was reported on Wednesday that 44-year-old Bishop, editor of the popular magazine F1 Racing, will from 2008 take up the role as the Woking based team's Group Head of Communications and PR.

A spokesman for the magazine's publisher Haymarket, for whom Bishop has worked since 1996, confirmed the news.

"After 11 years leading F1 Racing magazine, Matt Bishop has accepted a unique opportunity within one of formula one's outstanding teams," said publishing director Peter Higham.

He added: "In Matt, McLaren is gaining a very skilled communicator and we wish him well with the new challenges that lie ahead."
