Sep.10 (GMM) F1's testing agreement could be set for a shake-up ahead of 2008, according to Mario Theissen.

The BMW boss, who has been the most vocal about the shortcomings of the current arrangement, wants young drivers to be given more opportunities to gain track mileage in the future.

Currently, the axing of the third car rule for Fridays, and the one-car regulation for private tests, means that test drivers are seldom needed.

So while heavy test restrictions are still supported by the teams, Theissen revealed that certain mileage for young drivers should be exempted from the agreement next year and beyond.

"It is being considered, so that young drivers get the chance to drive their first formula one miles," he is quoted as saying by motorline.cc.

The German added that the precise definition of a 'young driver' for these purposes is still being discussed by team bosses.
