ROME, Oct 9, 2007 (AFP) - Fernado Alonso was quizzed by an Italian magistrates´ court investigating the McLaren and Ferrari ´spygate´ affair on Tuesday.

The Spaniard was interviewed for two and a half hours by Giuseppe Tibis, the prosecutor heading the inquiry into the affair at the court in Modena near Ferrari headquarters.

The scandal has already seen F1´s governing body the FIA strip McLaren of all their constructors´ points and impose a record 100 million dollar fine after they were found guilty of spying on Ferrari.

Alonso has not been targeted by the inquiry but was called to appear before Tibis as an informed witness, the ANSA news agency reported.
