Oct.21 (GMM) Lewis Hamilton has promised to ignore the FIA's advice that he stick strictly to the rules if he is crowned F1's first rookie world champion on Sunday.

McLaren boss Ron Dennis revealed at Interlagos that the team has been warned not to stray from the sport's rigid post-race procedures in the event that the title is won by a Mercedes-powered driver.

But Hamilton vowed to draw on flamboyant MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi's example if he stays atop the drivers' classification after the Brazilian finale just outside Sao Paulo.

"Look at the way the fans hug him on the bike after a race," the Briton told the Mirror.

"I'm not saying I want everyone to hug me but it would be cool to do the things he does. It does so much for the sport.

"If someone passes me a Union Jack on the slowing down lap it'd be cool to fly it. My hero Ayrton Senna used to do it here. Massa did it last year. That'd be cool," he added.

Hamilton said he would also do a 'donut' on the slowing down lap -- a manoeuvre that is frowned upon by formula one's authorities.

He also said the teams don't like their drivers indulging in the tyre-screeching moves.

"If I win I'll definitely do it," said Hamilton. "When a race finishes it's dull. You never see drivers doing donuts.

"It would be cool to finish a race and do a donut.

"The teams don't like it because you could break something but if it breaks I'll pay for it. I doubt they'd be happy but I'd do it anyway."
