Oct.21 (GMM) Ron Dennis will take home a constructors' championship trophy from the Brazilian grand prix.

His McLaren team were expelled from the contest amid the espionage affair, meaning that Ferrari will receive the real trophy at the end of year FIA gala.

But McLaren mechanics presented their boss with a glass trophy in the Interlagos pits, bearing the words, "The real 2007 Constructors' Champion. To Ron Dennis, from the race team".

"The guys have impressed me deeply," Dennis, showing off the prize, told Bild am Sonntag newspaper.

He also told the news agency Reuters: "The team realise it has been a bit of a tough season, so it was just a nice gesture.

"It will sit somewhere appropriate, probably in my office at home."
