Guide to the Interlagos circuit in Brazil
Felipe Massa celebrates his win in his home country Brazil
PARIS, Oct 15, 2007 (AFP) - The stage for the climax to the 2007 season at Interlagos is one of the most atmospheric on the F1 calendar thanks to the fervent support of the Brazilian fans.
Situated in Sao Paulo its notorious bumps, tricky corners, long straight ideal for passing and anti-clockwise lap tests the drivers to the limit.
The circuit, whose official name is the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace and which measures 2.677 miles long, is called Interlagos as it lies between two lakes, Guarapiranga and Billings.
It was here that seven-time champion Michael Schumacher bowed out. On Sunday it could be the setting for history if Lewis Hamilton becomes the youngest driver to win the world championship.
